Energy Supplement Usage & Warnings

Usage:

Each capsule contains 750mg, with a single dose being 1 - 2 capsules for the average size person. Given the differences in physiology and lifestyle, we recommend 1 capsule to start (just to be sure), and then increasing as indicated by results. In general, the larger your body size, the larger the dose required. A rough guide is 1 capsule for each 60 lbs of body weight (i.e. less than 120 lbs = 1 capsule dose, 120 - 180 lbs = 2 capsule dose, and + 180 lbs = 3 capsule dose.) The majority of people take 2 capsules for the ideal effect.

Do not exceed 4 capsules in 24 hours. Drink at least 12 ounces of water when taking (fruit juice is also helpful.) If you experience any stomach irritation, try taking the dose at least an hour, but not more than 2 hours after eating. It is important to drink plenty of fluids over time after taking. Check with your physician before using stimulant type product, or if you are taking other medication. Do not mix with other stimulants!

Important Things to Know Before Using Energy Pills:

The use of energy supplements is not for everybody. Be smart before you start.

If you have a family history of heart disease or heart conditions or high blood pressure you should not take energy supplements or fat burning products (it could give you heart palpitations or irregular heart beat).

Do not use this product if you are pregnant or nursing. Consult a health care professional before using this product if you have heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression or other psychiatric condition, glaucoma, difficulty in urinating, prostate enlargement, or seizure disorder, if you are using a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), tri-cyclic antidepressants, or any other prescription drug, or you are using an over-the-counter drug containing ephedrine, pseudoephedrine or phenylpropanolamine (ingredients found in certain allergy, asthma, cough/cold and weight control products).

JUMPSTART EX should not be used by anyone with stomach or duodenal ulcers because it increases gastric fluid production and may add to gastrointestinal discomfort and disorders.

Tyrosine can interact with some drugs, so you must check with your doctor if you are taking any prescription drugs. Always consult a physician if you feel unsure or have questions about whether you should take an energy supplement or not.

Groups that are at risk, such as women of reproductive age and children, should limit their daily consumption of caffeine to a maximum of 300 mg for the former and 2.5 mg/kg body weight for the latter. (Boozer, C. N., P. A. Daly, P. Homel, et al. "Herbal Ephedra/Caffeine for Weight Loss: A 6-Month Randomized Safety and Efficacy Trial." International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders 26 (May 2002): 593-604.)

Exceeding recommended serving may cause adverse health effects. Discontinue use and call a health care professional immediately if you experience rapid heartbeat, dizziness, severe headache, shortness of breath, or other similar symptoms. Most people will find that just a single size dose for your body weight will do the job perfectly.

It is advised that you start with less than the recommended dosage. If you are new to stimulants, take it with a meal to test your tolerance of the product before increasing to the recommended dosage. Do not take more than one product at a time containing any central nervous system stimulants.

Women usually do not need the same amount as men to feel the effect. Start with half the dose just to be on the safe side and monitor how you react to it and how long you feel energized for. If the effect is not to your satisfaction, increase the dosage but be very careful not to exceed the recommended daily dose.

Needless to say, you should not take an energy boost supplement too close to bedtime unless staying up all night is your goal. The first time you try energy pills, take them early in the day to determine how long they will stay active in your system and keep your energy level elevated. Everybody reacts differently to energy enhancing supplements depending on your metabolism, your weight, sex and your body frame.

Some people may be sensitive to stimulant ingredients, so if taken on an empty stomach, it could result in a mild stomach irritation or mild nausea. A small fruit snack 30 mins before or after (after is better) will ensure optimal effect and minimize stomach irritation. Also, drinking lots of water is critical to the best results.
